NOTE - my guest Tom is missing, LOL.
Welcome to another Jane's Doodles new release hop!
The inspiration for this set started with the heron (in Croatian čaplja). My father's nickname when he was young was čaplja (heron) because he was so skinny and his long skinny legs resembled this bird. My father passed away when I was 22 and when we moved into this house I started seeing herons. Nothing weird about that right? BUT, it's when I would see them that was special. I would see them on my children's birthdays and on special days. I like to think my dad is winking at me.
I wanted this heron to have some friends of course and got the idea for a crocodile who doesn't know how to swim. LOL. The mouse came out looking like a cheeky little fellow. He's got this Italian 'forget about it' vibe.
This set was inspired by the gorgeous Willow Crossley, a British florist. I follow her on Instagram and just LOVE her! I love her wild and loose style. If anyone would know their gardens it would be the English. :)
My first card is using Surf's Up.
There's a little video on Instagram that shows how I made it.
I coloured the background and waves with watercolour. I used markers to colour the croc and fussy cut him out.
I decided to add these clear sequins that I like to throw into your orders. You know when the sunlight creates these beautiful speckles on the water, well that's what these sequins reminded me of.
Last but not least my card using Fresh Cut Flowers.
Easy peasy, stamped my flowers onto white cardstock, coloured and fussy cut them out.
There's also a 25% off sale that ends on Sunday, no coded needed. And make sure to leave comments as I will choose one who will win a stamp set of their choice. I will announce the winner on Monday.
Below is the order of the hop (some link to blogs, others to Instagram accounts). We have some fabulous guest designers too.
